Chris Randall is an animation producer and director specialising in stop-motion animation. Situated conveniently in the heart of the UK’s second city, Birmingham, his repertoire spans TV commercials, viral sequences, title sequences, promotions, idents, film production and theatrical projection design.
Recent clients include Diet Coke, BBC, ITV and Cadbury. Individual projects range from promotional vehicles told through the voices of a talking banana skin, to the creation of tornado spectacles for The Wizard of Oz stage show currently touring the US.
The Birmingham studio which he occupies is tailor made for stop-motion and 2d animation, pixellation (animating people) as well as live action and miniature effects. It is designed for those who want to do something a bit different. The most notable recent export from the studio, a short film about finding a better life called ‘The Animal Book’ (co-directed with Natalie Hinchley) continues to be invited to screen at festivals around the world.
