LaSer UK
“Our development within Solihull provides us with a prestigious working environment and an excellent location, at the heart of the country, to reach our national customers”
Stephen Hunt, Managing Director, LaSer UK
With over 400 staff, the major financial services provider, LaSer UK, needed more space. The leading provider of credit and customer programmes decided to expand the offices of its UK headquarters at Chadwick House, Blenheim Court, in Solihull’s town centre.
LaSer operates credit facilities, including store credit cards and customer loyalty programmes, for over 50 well-known brands in the UK.
The company has more than 4 million cardholders on its database and its store card operation covers around 9,000 stores in the UK. It originated as the financial arm of the Oxford Street store, Selfridges, and is now part of the French owned Galeries Lafayette and BNP Paribas groups.
A hub for service companies that mirrors London
The company chose Solihull for its expansion because it has the highest concentration of professional services companies in the region, as a percentage of total businesses and of total employment – mirroring London.
At the heart of the expanding West Midlands region, Solihull also boasts excellent, road, rail and air connections to the rest of the UK and beyond.
Grade A accommodation
Another clincher for LaSer UK was the availability of first class office accommodation within Solihull. Like other companies in the growing business and professional services sector, the ability to expand in the right premises was crucial.
That posed no problem for LaSer, which was able to expand into an additional 15,000 square feet within a Grade A office complex.
Support for business
A final reason for choosing Solihull was the package of support available from the Council’s Business Investment Team to existing businesses in the area - as well as those wishing to relocate to the Borough.
Stephen Hunt, Managing Director of LaSer, said: “We look forward to working with the Council’s Business Investment Team and are interested in their support initiatives for local businesses, including assistance with local recruitment and networking opportunities with the strong business base within Solihull.”
